What is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?

​3D/4D ultrasound can be done at anytime of pregnancy.  

The best time is between 26-34 weeks. Twins 24-26 weeks


Ultrasound, what will you see?

12-20 weeks-- will see whole body on one screen

  • Turns, kicks, somersaults


24-30 weeks --baby to big to fit one screen

  • see sections arms, legs, abdomen, head and gender


30-40 weeks--easy to see all body parts


Will insurance pay for my 3D/4D ultrasound?

No, because ​2d, 3d, 4d are consider elective ultrasound (not medical necessary) entertainment only


Do I need an order for this elective ultrasound?

There is no order necessary, but you must be under the care of a medical provider


Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes, an appointment is necessary for all our ultrasounds


Is it safe?  Are there any risks to me or my baby?

​There are no known risks or side effects and it is safe enough to use on pregnant women and infants.

Ultrasound has become one of the most widely used diagnostic tools in modern medicine


How can I schedule a self pay ultrasound with Happy Heart Imaging Service?

Inform your health care provider that you would like to have your ultrasound with Happy Heart Imaging Service and have them fax the order to us or you can bring the order with you to your 

appointment


How will my healthcare provider receive results and when will they receive them?

We offer physicians online viewing portal which allow your healthcare provider to view his 

patients images immediately after they are acquired with a secure username and password with a

quick same day turn around time for reports.


What is the difference between diagnostic and screening ultrasound?

A diagnostic exam must be ordered by your healthcare provider to confirm or rule out a current 

symptom(s) so that treatment can be initiated .  A screening exam does not require an order from

your healthcare provider and is done before symptoms are noticed.  This is a personal decision to

help you maintain your standard of healthy living.


How to get an ultrasound for diagnostic purposes?

It is necessary to obtain a physician script or order that documents the type of ultrasound

you are to recieved.  This script or order, verifies you have your medical provider approval

to get the test performed.  Once you receive that script you have the right to choose any

imaging facility you wish for imaging purposes.


Do I have to pay at the time of service?

​We would appreciate payment at time of service.


Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance at this time.  All our ultrasounds are on a cash basis,  cashier' check, credit or debit card.   A convenience fee will apply for all credit/debit card purchases.


Why are you so inexpensive?

Unlike hospitals and imaging centers, Happy Heart Imaging have a low overhead, allowing us to pass

the savings onto our clients.


What do I wear the day of my Ultrasound Exam?

You should wear loose fitting clothes.  Women should avoid wearing panty hose.


Can I obtain copies of my report?

Yes.


Can I send results to more than one physician?

​Yes.


How long will it take to recive my results?

Same day of test.


What do I bring to my appointment?

For diagnostic ultrasounds an order/script from the ordering medical provider

Elective ultrasounds will need proof that you are under the care of a medical provider

Preventive Health Screenings  will need driver's license or a picture ID


Can I bring someone into the exam room with me?

Yes.


What is ultrasound Imaging?

Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive examination (outside of body)

It uses sound waves to produce images of the body's internal organs

You will be able to see these ultrasound images on a screen during the

examination.  The Radiologist will study these images and then send a

report.


How long will the ultrasound exam take?

Most ultrasound exams take no more than 30 minutes.

What will I experience during this exam?

Most ultrasound exams are painless.  A gel will be applied to your skin

and may be varying degrees of discomfort and pressure as the technologist

guides the transducer over your body, especially if you are required to 

undergo the exam with a full bladder.


What is a Physician's Portal?

Physician Portal is an internet based web access for an individual Medical

Physician to remotely view his or her patients images and reports with a 

secure username and password

screening that is life threatening or highly concern, we will notify your

medical provider and /or refer you to the ER for immediate care.
